Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Louis XVIII facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair falling in loose curls. The king is depicted without laurel or diadem, in the manner of antique portraiture. The circular legend reads LOUIS XVIII - ROI DE FRANCE. arching around the effigy, with the engraver's signature DROZ F. incused in the exergue below the truncation.
