| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed note with the bank title EL BANCO DE LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES arched across the upper centre, flanked by two circular guilloche medallions each bearing the denomination 0.40. A female portrait vignette occupies the lower left corner and a male portrait vignette the lower right, both executed in fine line engraving.
