| Obverse description | Armored equestrian effigy of Duke Heinrich Julius facing left, mounted on a caparisoned horse with elaborately decorated trappings, the duke wearing full plate armor surmounted by a plumed helmet. The figure is rendered in high relief with exceptional detail characteristic of early 17th-century German medallic art.
