Frederik V's reign saw Denmark's billon small change debased repeatedly to fund the costs of maintaining neutrality during the Seven Years' War — a policy that cost money in diplomatic maneuvering even without direct military engagement. The 4 Skilling issues of this period circulated hard through a cash-hungry domestic economy, and surviving examples in better condition are genuinely scarce.
KM#598 is specific to the 1764 date within a short run of related types from the Copenhagen mint.
