| Obverse description | Central field displays a crowned royal arms of Denmark, featuring three passant lions within a shield, surmounted by an arched crown rendered in relief. The shield is set against a plain field, with a beaded or linear inner border separating it from the outer legend. The peripheral Latin legend runs clockwise around the circumference, identifying the king by name and invoking divine right. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, characteristic of mid-16th-century Danish hammered coinage. The overall style reflects the Gothic heraldic tradition prevalent in Scandinavian minting of the period. |
