Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick IV facing right, wearing a laurel wreath, with curled hair falling to the shoulder. A small armorial shield is visible at the bust truncation. The encircling legend in Latin reads the Duke's titles, interrupted by ornamental stops. The portrait is rendered in the baroque style typical of late 17th-century German princely coinage.
