Reverse description Central field displaying a three-line calligraphic legend in nastaliq script, reading 'Zarb Dar al-Saltanah Tabriz Sanah 1227,' indicating the mint city of Tabriz and the AH date of striking, enclosed within a raised inner border. The broad outer marginal band mirrors the obverse with an equally elaborate relief decoration of interlaced arabesques, scrolling vines, and floral palmettes. Small rosette-form ornaments punctuate the central inscription field. The overall design is consistent with the large presentation-style coinage produced at the Tabriz mint during the reign of Fath-Ali Shah.
