| Obverse lettering | MON • PROVISIONAL DEL EST • DE HOND •:• (Translation: Provisional coin from the State of Honduras) |
| Reverse description | Central device features a large, full-canopied tree standing in the field, its broad foliage rendered in detailed relief, with the denomination mark 4 • R • flanking the lower trunk. The tree is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the mint mark T and assayer initial G appearing below alongside the date 1851, all separated by dots. The peripheral legend LIBRE CREZCA FECUNDO, meaning 'Free grows fertile', arcs around the upper portion of the coin, separated from the inner circle by a plain band. The overall design is typical of the provisional Central American republican coinage of the mid-nineteenth century. |
