Reverse description Central field bears the Jerusalem cross — a large plain cross dividing the field into four quadrants — with the quartered Lions and Castles of Spain partially visible in the angles. The assayer's initial, mint mark (P for Potosí), and the denomination numeral '4' are visible in the quadrants of the cross, with the date partially discernible on this example. Surrounding legends in Latin, partially struck due to the irregular cob flan, reference the royal titulature of Philip V. The entire design is characteristic of the macuquina hammered coinage technique, with a rough, unstandardized flan edge.
