| Reverse description | The reverse of the host Bolivian 4 Soles displays the arms of the Republic of Bolivia: a mountainous landscape surmounted by a radiant sun and flanked by a llama and a breadfruit tree, all enclosed within an oval cartouche. Six five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc above the central device, representing the departments of Bolivia. The circular peripheral legend reads REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA, with the mint mark PTS (Potosi), denomination 4S (4 Soles), date 1830, and assayer initials J.L. distributed around the lower portion of the coin. The entire design reflects the standard early Republican Bolivian milled coinage style of the Potosi mint. |
