Obverse description The obverse of the host Bolivian 4 Soles coin features a draped bust of Simon Bolivar facing right, with the name BOLIVAR inscribed in the exergue below a decorative frame. The peripheral legend reads LIBRE POR LA CONSTITUCION. Two Paraguayan countermarks have been applied to the field: a sun or floral punch near the top of the bust, accompanied by the last two digits of the countermark year (58), and a prominent 'Po' monogram punch to the right of the bust, denoting Paraguayan official validation. The countermarks are boldly struck and clearly legible against the worn surface of the host coin.
