Obverse description The combined arms of the Electorate of Mainz: the six-spoked wheel of Mainz in the lower half of a divided shield, impaled with the personal coat of arms of Archbishop Emmerich Joseph von Breidbach-Bürresheim in the upper half, as used during his tenure from 1763 to 1774. The shield is rendered in a baroque heraldic style typical of ecclesiastical German states of the period. No peripheral legend appears on this face.
