Obverse description Full-length figure of St. Peter standing facing, positioned behind the arms of Osnabrück; the saint holds two keys in his right hand and a book in his left. The shield divides the initials S - P in the field to either side. The encircling legend reads MON: CATHEDRA: - ECCLES: OSNABR:, identifying this as a coinage of the Cathedral Chapter of Osnabrück. The design is executed in a late baroque style typical of German ecclesiastical coinage of the early eighteenth century.
