Obverse description Central field occupied by an ornately shaped heraldic shield bearing the Three Crowns of Sweden, enclosed within a twisted rope inner circle. The shield displays a distinctly ornamental, lobed outline characteristic of mid-16th century Swedish coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the rope border, with the regnal date appended at the conclusion of the inscription. The overall design is executed in the bold, somewhat crude relief typical of hammered billon coinage of the Vasa period.
