Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupying the central field. The king is depicted with a short trimmed beard, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the facial features and hair. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT. OMN. REX F.D. IND.IMP., separated by dots, running from the lower left to the lower right along the inner border. The entire design is bounded by a fine raised rim with beaded inner border.
