Reverse description Plain, blank reverse (無背, muhai) with no inscriptions, decorative elements, or markings of any kind. The surface is flat and featureless save for the central square hole and its raised inner border, consistent with the designation of this piece as a muhai bosen (無背母銭), a master coin with an uninscribed reverse intentionally produced for use as a casting prototype. A broad raised rim encircles the reverse field.
