Reverse description Central motif features a long voided cross extending to the inner circle, with a small fleur-de-lis or ornamental device at the centre where the arms of the cross intersect. The four quarters formed by the cross each contain a curved trefoil or floral ornament, giving the design a decorative Gothic character. A beaded inner circle separates the central cross design from the circumferential legend. The devout reverse inscription, a common pious formula on Flemish billon coinage of the period, is distributed around the outer field within a beaded border.
