Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of King Gustav II Adolf facing three-quarters to the right, crowned, wearing a richly decorated cuirass with ruffled collar and royal mantle; the king holds a scepter in his right hand. Above the effigy, a radiant Tetragrammaton (יהוה) in Hebrew appears within a sunburst. The surrounding legend, separated by a beaded inner circle, reads in Latin: GVSTAWS·ADOLPH·D:G·SVECOR·GOTHOR·WANDALOR:QVE·REX, with the continuation GLORIA·ALTISSIMO * SVORVM·REFUGIO completing the inscription. The overall style reflects the elaborate baroque engraving typical of early seventeenth-century Swedish coinage.
