Obverse description Central field features the large crowned royal cypher of Frederik III, rendered in an elaborate interlaced monogram style, partially enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The crown surmounting the monogram differs in form from earlier type variants. The surrounding legend, positioned outside the beaded circle, inscribes the denomination in Danish and concludes with the date of issue.

Reverse description A crowned flat-topped heraldic shield bearing the arms of Denmark is centrally positioned, partially within a beaded circle, with a cross featuring short, straight-sided triangular arms radiating from behind the shield. The mintmark, when present, appears to the right of the crown. Outside the beaded circle, the royal motto of Frederik III is inscribed in the surrounding legend.
