Obverse description Draped bust of King Carl XI facing right, with long curling wig, set within a beaded inner circle. The royal legend encircles the effigy in Latin along the outer periphery. A small oval countermark, applied by the City of Riga in 1705 bearing the crowned cypher of Carl XII, is punched into the field to the right of the bust. The overall style reflects the late 17th-century Swedish baroque portrait tradition.

Reverse description A crowned shield bearing the three crowns of Sweden, the arms dividing the denomination mark '4 M' across the field. The shield is surrounded by a wreath-like ornamental frame, with the full Latin legend encircling the design along the rim. The date 1693 appears within the legend at the base, recording the year of original minting of the host coin. The composition is typical of late 17th-century Swedish riksdaler coinage in the baroque heraldic tradition.
