Reverse description The reverse bears a bold, multi-line denomination inscription in Roman capital letters filling the field: IIII above MARIEN / GROSCH, followed by the date 1705, and the mintmaster initials B·H· at the bottom, flanked by small rosette or pellet ornaments. Two small decorative floral or leaf ornaments flank the IIII at the top of the legend. The inscription is the sole design element, presented in a plain typographic manner characteristic of early eighteenth-century German minor coinage, with a fine milled border encircling the entire reverse.
