Reverse description Central field depicts the rearing horse of Brunswick-Lüneburg, a traditional heraldic charge of the House of Welf, shown in left profile with forelegs raised, standing on a ground line. The upper legend NUNQUAM RETRORSUM (Never Backward), the dynastic motto, arcs around the upper portion of the coin. Below the ground line, the inscription FEIN SILB (fine silver) flanks the denomination mark 4 MG, with the date divided below, incorporating the mintmaster's initial C within the date numerals.
