Obverse description Draped bust of Queen Isabel II facing right, her hair dressed in curls and ornamented with a floral or berry decoration at the back of the head, in the neoclassical portrait style engraved by González de Sepúlveda. The circular legend reads ISABEL 2A. POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS., interrupted by the portrait, with the date 1836 placed in the lower exergual area beneath the bust. The effigy is rendered in relatively high relief against a plain field, with fine hair detail visible on well-struck examples.
