| Obverse description | Central device depicting a three-towered castle of Castile set within an eight-lobed (octolobed) cartouche in the field. The castle features three crenellated towers with openings at the base, rendered in high relief characteristic of the Segovia roller-milled coinage. The central motif is enclosed between an inner solid circle and an outer beaded (dentilated) border, with the royal Latin legend distributed around the annular field. The coin's broad flan and sharp strike reflect the quality associated with the Segovia mill (ingenio). |
