| Obverse description | Central field features a large crowned castle of Castile with three towers, rendered in relief within a beaded inner circle. The denomination numeral IIII appears to the left of the castle, while the Segovia aqueduct mintmark appears at the base. The legend PHILIPPVS III D G runs around the periphery within a beaded outer border, interrupted by the castle motif. The overall strike is characteristic of hammered coinage, resulting in a slightly irregular planchet with variable relief. |

| Reverse description | Central field displays a rampant lion of León facing right, set within a beaded inner circle. The date, partially visible, appears in the upper portion of the legend, flanked by stars or pellets as dividers. The circumferential legend HISPANIARVM REX runs around the periphery within a beaded outer border. The lion is rendered in a stylised heraldic manner typical of Spanish hammered coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
