| Obverse description | Central field bears the conjoined monogram FIL (Fürst In Lend / local wine-trade authority initials) in large interlaced capital letters. The date is divided to either side of the denomination numeral IIII in Roman numerals across the lower central field, reading '16 IIII 70'. In the lower portion of the field, a stylized grapevine with a bunch of grapes and foliage is depicted in relief, referencing the wine-trade character of this local currency. Small decorative rosettes or floral ornaments flank the monogram in the upper field. The overall composition is bold and utilitarian, consistent with locally issued trade coinage of the late seventeenth century. |
