Obverse description Central field occupied by a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Bamberg and those of the Schönborn family, surmounted by a bishop's mitre and cross. The shield is flanked by elaborate foliate and scrollwork mantling. Mint initials G-N appear below the shield in the lower field. The circular Latin legend surrounding the design reads: 1698 LOTHAR.FRANC.D.G.A.&E.M.F.BAMB., with the date 1698 at the top, all within a finely milled outer border.

Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor and patron saint of Bamberg, shown enthroned and vested in imperial regalia including a crown and ornate robes. He holds a sceptre in his right hand and an orb bearing a cross in his left. The circular Latin legend S.HEINRICUS IMPERATOR. surrounds the figure, with the lettering distributed around the entire periphery within a milled border.
