| Reverse description | Central denomination and legend enclosed within an ornate Rococo-style cartouche, with the inscription LAND MVNZ 4 KREVZ arranged across the field. The mintmaster's initials appear within or adjacent to the frame, and the date of issue is positioned at the bottom of the design. The entire composition is rendered in the elaborate decorative style typical of mid-eighteenth-century German kleinmünzen, with a beaded border encircling the reverse. |

Charles Theodor did not actually reign until 1743, which compresses the realistic striking window for this type considerably — the earlier bound of the cataloged date range likely reflects attribution overlap with his predecessor, Johann Wilhelm, who died in 1716. The Palatinate billon issues of this period were produced under persistent monetary pressure, as the Rhine territories struggled to maintain specie circulation following the devastation of Louis XIV's campaigns through the Palatinate in the 1680s and 1690s.
