Obverse description Central field displays the arms of Nuremberg — a crowned imperial eagle on a diagonally striped shield — set within an ornate cartouche. The denomination K. IIII. (4 Kreuzer) appears above the shield, flanked by the date 17-04 split across the lower left and right of the shield. The mint abbreviation GFN appears in a curved cartouche at the base of the design. The circular legend NVRNBERGER STATT MUNTZ runs around the periphery, with a milled border enclosing the entire composition.
