Obverse description Central quartered coat of arms surmounted by an elaborate royal crown, the shield incorporating the Hohenzollern eagle in the central escutcheon, all set within a beaded inner circle. The denomination 'CR. 4' appears in the lower exergue, flanked by small rosette ornaments. The circumferential legend reads F : W : III · BOR : REX · SUP : NOVIC : & VAL C R, identifying Frederick William III as King of Prussia and Sovereign of Neuchâtel and Valangin. The arms are rendered in fine engraved detail consistent with late 18th-century Germanic heraldic style.
