| Obverse description | Within a roped circular border on the square klippe flan, the Virgin Mary (Madonna) is depicted standing in full figure, holding the Christ Child before her, positioned above the quartered coat of arms of Archbishop Paris von Lodron. The surrounding Latin legend invokes Marian protection and identifies the issuing prelate. The composition reflects the devotional Baroque artistic style prevalent in Counter-Reformation Salzburg. |
