Reverse description The reverse displays the Afghan royal arms at center: the domed mosque of the Arg (royal palace) flanked by two national flags on staffs, all set upon a platform with battlemented lower section. Two wheat ears frame the central device, joined at the base by a ribbon cartouche bearing the inscription 'Afghanistan' (افغانستان) in Arabic script. The Solar Hijri date in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals (۱۳۱۵ / 1936) appears below the mosque and above the cartouche. The denomination '4 Gram' (۴ گرام) is inscribed in Arabic script at the top of the field, above the central device. The coin is rimmed by a reeded border.
