Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Norodom I facing left, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features in the French academic style. The engraver's signature C. WURDEN appears incuse on the truncation of the neck. The circular legend reads NORODOM I ROI DU CAMBODGE along the upper periphery, with the date 1860 prominently placed in the lower field. The portrait is set against a flat, polished field, enclosed by a finely toothed border.
