Obverse description Armored bust of Carlos IV facing right, rendered in the style introduced under his reign and retained on Fernando VII coinage struck in New Granada. The effigy features a powdered wig with a queue and elaborate military cuirass with decorative gorget. The surrounding circular legend reads FERDND·VII·D·G·HISP·ET IND·R·, with the mint date 1818 positioned in the lower exergue flanked by pellets. A finely milled border encircles the entire design.
