| Obverse description | The central field displays the quartered royal arms of Spain — comprising the castles of Castile and the lions of León, with a small escutcheon of the French Bourbon fleurs-de-lis at the centre — surmounted by a large ornate royal crown. The entire shield is encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, rendered in fine detail with alternating fire-steels and flints. The circumferential legend in Latin reads PHILIPPUS V DEI GRA, separated by decorative rosette stops, running along the milled border. |
