Reverse description The quartered royal arms of Spain — comprising the castles of Castile, the lions of León, the chains of Navarre, and the pomegranates of Granada — displayed on an ornate crowned shield encircled by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The shield is flanked on either side by the denomination numeral 4 to the left and the mint assayer initial S to the right. Below the shield, the Potosí mint mark (PTS monogram) and assayer initial PR appear. The circumferential Latin motto IN·UTROQ·FELIX·AUSPICE·DEO encircles the design, proclaiming happiness in both worlds under God's auspices. A fine milled border frames the entire reverse.
