Reverse description The crowned quartered shield of the Spanish Royal Arms occupies the central field, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León alternating in the quarters, with the French Bourbon fleurs-de-lis in an inescutcheon at the centre. The shield is encircled by the chain and badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The denomination numeral '4' appears to the left of the shield and the assayer initial 'S' to the right, with mint mark and assayer letters positioned at the base below the Order chain. A continuous Latin legend borders the design around the full circumference of the coin.
