| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing periwig tied with a bow at the nape. The effigy occupies the central field with fine detail on the cuirass and lace cravat. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, interrupted at the base by the mint date in the exergue area between two pellets. The overall style follows the neoclassical portrait tradition established for Spanish colonial gold coinage of the late 18th century. |
