Obverse description Armored bust of Carlos III facing right, rendered in the portrait style inherited from the Fernando VI coinage dies, with elaborate period dress featuring a ruffled collar and layered cuirass visible at the truncation. The effigy is boldly struck and occupies the majority of the field. The circumferential legend reads CAROLS III D G HISPAN ET IND REX, with the date 1769 positioned at the base of the bust below the truncation, separated by small rosette stops. The overall portrait style reflects the transitional artistic convention of the early Carlos III colonial coinage, retaining the facial type associated with the preceding reign.
