| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in high relief in the Baroque portraiture style characteristic of Spanish colonial coinage. The effigy displays the king's wig with curled locks falling to the shoulder, his truncation showing elaborately decorated armour and drapery. The encircling Latin legend reads CAROL·III·D·G·HISP·ET IND·R·, interrupted by the bust, with the mint date positioned in the exergue below. A toothed milled border frames the entire design. |
