Reverse description An ornate cartouche with elaborately folded and draped ribbon or cloth hangings at either side frames a multi-line Latin devotional inscription occupying the central field. The text reads BENE DICTUS SIT IEHOVA DEUS (Blessed be Jehovah God), followed by the date 1680 and the numeral 4 denoting the denomination, all rendered in bold Roman capitals. The cartouche base features delicate scrollwork and a small ornamental device at the foot. The overall composition is characteristic of late 17th-century Swiss civic coin design.
