Reverse description A ceremonial procession scene depicts the translation of the relics of Saints Rupert and Virgilius, with multiple robed and mitred ecclesiastical figures carrying a baldachin-covered reliquary shrine at center. The composition is arranged in a formal, hieratic style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German medallic art, with the procession figures occupying the full width of the field. The scene commemorates the solemn transfer of the saints' relics on 24 September 1628. The circular Latin legend, separated by a stop, names the two patron saints and records the date of the translation. A beaded inner border frames the design.
