| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa, her hair elaborately styled in loose curls and dressed with a floral ornament, wearing a lace-trimmed bodice with a brooch at the décolletage. The legend encircles the effigy reading M·THERESIA·D·G· on the left and R·IMP·GE·HU·BO·REG· on the right, abbreviated titles denoting Queen of Hungary, Bohemia, and Empress of the Romans. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the refined Baroque court style, with fine detail in the drapery and coiffure. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
