Obverse description Armored and draped bust of John George IV, Elector of Saxony, facing right, wearing a full curled wig and plate armor with decorative gorget and mantle, a baton visible over his right shoulder. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the baroque style typical of late 17th-century German coinage. The surrounding legend reads IOHAN GEORG IV DUX SAX in the upper right field, continuing with IUL CLM ANG R & W around the left and lower portions of the coin. A beaded inner border frames the design.
