Reverse description Central device featuring the Augsburg pine cone — the heraldic symbol of the city — displayed within an elaborate Baroque cartouche frame, surmounted by a stylized city wall with flanking towers. The Roman numeral date MDCCXLV is divided at the lower portion of the design, flanking the cartouche. The overall composition reflects the ornate civic heraldic tradition of 18th-century German Free Imperial Cities.
