| Reverse description | Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with both heads crowned beneath a single central imperial crown. A large quartered heraldic shield is superimposed on the eagle's breast, bearing the four-fold arms of the city of Magdeburg. The circumferential Latin legend, a biblical invocation of peace, runs continuously around the eagle within a beaded border. The bold, high-relief execution is consistent with the hammered gold multiple-ducat coinage of the period. |
