Obverse description The obverse features two facing effigies in profile, set within separate conjoined oval frames against a rhodium-plated field. To the left, a diademed and elaborately coiffed bust of Queen Victoria faces right, rendered in a classical Victorian portrait style. To the right, the contemporary effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a tiara and pearl earring, faces left. Between the two portraits at the top, a royal crown surmounts an interlaced royal cipher, and below the portraits the crowned cypher 'ER' appears centrally flanked by the denomination '4 DOLLARS'. The surrounding legend reads 'ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA' at the top and 'VICTORIA D·G·REGINA' at the bottom, separated by a beaded border.
