Obverse description In the top left and right corner the value `4` and the number of the banknote is repeated and printed twice in blue. In the top center the inscription `Dominion of Canada` and below printed in an oval, a portrait of the Duke of Argyll, Governor General and Marquess of Lorne. On the left side of the portrait, four cherubs and the Victoria Bridge and on the right side, the Great Seal of Canada in orange/brown.
