Reverse description The reverse of this square klippe flan displays a bold, centrally placed denomination inscription arranged in three horizontal lines: IIII above DAL above 1604, each line flanked by small cross-pattée ornaments. The central field is framed by an inner beaded circular border from which stylized foliate or laurel branch motifs emerge at the lower corners, lending an elegant decorative quality to the composition. An outer beaded border follows the diamond outline of the planchet, with additional ornamental devices at each corner angle. The overall design is simple and heraldic in character, emphasizing the face value and date in a clear, legible arrangement typical of early seventeenth-century Danish coinage.
