Reverse description Central field features a plain Latin cross with double-lined arms dividing the field into four quarters, with the date 1642 distributed across the quadrants — digits 1 and 6 in the upper left and right, and 4 and 2 in the lower left and right respectively. The cross is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend surrounds this inner circle, invoking the Constantinian motto, separated by decorative punctuation marks, all executed in the hammered style characteristic of Portuguese gold coinage of the Restoration period.
