| Obverse description | Central field features the sacred conch shell (Sankha) of Travancore, rendered in stylized relief with fine spiral detailing and surmounted by a decorative crown, set within a raised circular border. The conch, a dynastic emblem of the Travancore royal house, is flanked by ornamental foliate scrollwork. Surrounding the central motif, a continuous wreath of leafy sprigs encircles the design, itself bounded by a prominent beaded border running along the coin's outer rim. The composition is symmetrical and reflects the traditional iconographic conventions of Travancore coinage, with a floret or star ornament at the base of the wreath. |
