Obverse description Central crowned eight-fold composite arms incorporating the central escutcheon of Pfalz, the quartered shield displaying the territorial claims of the Duchy of Jülich-Berg. The crowned shield is set within a circular legend in Latin. The overall style is consistent with early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage, with a beaded inner border surrounding the armorial design.
